Artist's Statement

I've been a hobbyist photographer for around 70 years. Starting with black and white film at age 9, I loaded the film canisters in a dark closet by feel and then carefully timed and agitated the developer, rinse and fixer to produce the negatives. The excitement of developing the final prints can't be duplicated with modern digital photographs where the results are seen on the camera instantly.

I don't consider myself a true photographer or artist, but I do find a lot of enjoyment in including my camera wherever I go to capture a good shot at the high school reunion, family celebrations and many sporting events. My grandchildren expect the best of the prints to appear after a birthday party or track meet.

These pictures were captured at a Mark Pearson concert in the Lewis and Clark Auditorium in August of 2022. Mark Pearson is a much beloved member of the LC Class of 1965 who has been a successful musician and longtime member of the Brothers Four. Mark sang many old songs and his own compositions reliving the days of the 60's and honoring members of our class who have distinguished themselves in unique ways. The Castaways were reunited from 1965 and sounded as good as they did all of those years ago. Dan Eaton (class of 1965) played his banjo and Mark (class of 1965) played his guitar as vocalists Joyce Palmer (class of 1965) and Joe Allison (Class of 1963) entertained us just like they had 55+ years ago.
These pictures will give just a little glimpse into the musicians who entertained us so well on that August summer afternoon in 2022.
