MARK HUSSEIN PHOTOGRAPHY Mark is a graduate of Washington State University and was an educator for 35 years. He also has been expressing himself with photography and writing for over 60 years emphasizing his commitment to recording and preserving the changing natural environment. Mark’s early work was included in “World in Focus”, an international exhibition of photography designed to expand awareness of endangered environments and cultures. He has had many solo exhibits and participated in various Art Walk Programs in the Seattle area and his work has received awards in the Annual Kenmore Art Show.
“I have been influenced by French Impressionists and the great 20 th Century Black & White Photographers so I sometime see the image as a “straight photograph”, sometimes as an Impressionist painting. In either case, I’m not interested in creating a photograph that needs a lot of manipulation. If the composition and light are right, the image will stand on its own.”
Mark conducts photography seminars for the Blue Mountain Land Trust’s Learning on the Land education series in Walla Walla, as well as for the Waitsburg School of Landscape Photography.
